If you live in the Fort McMurray area it is entirely possible that you have spotted Leonardo DiCaprio wandering around. Now, you might be asking yourself. What on earth is he doing in a place like this?

Fort McMurray is Known For Oil Sands

Fort McMurray is known as the heart of Alberta's industry for oil sands. Leonardo has been drawn to this community for that very reason. He wants to know more. He wants to collect research and learn things for a documentary that he is playing a role in in the near future. The documentary will be able climate changes.

It was not too long after he first arrived in this town that he narrated Carbon, which is the name of a short video that will be part of a larger Green World project that is currently in the making.

Leonardo is trying to help teach the world that without fossil fuels we would be nowhere. He wants the world to appreciate fossil fuels a little more than we do now and save the world before it is destroyed.

He is Not The First to Come

Neil Young and James Cameron are a few of the many other well-known celebrities who have made their way to this community over the last few years in order to learn more about the same thing.

There are a lot of people who say that they do not understand why the celebrities are bothering trying to play a role in improving the environment and going green. These are people who feel that celebrities have some of the largest carbon footprints on the planet. Why should you be listening to someone who uses more resources on a daily basis than you can afford to use in a week?
