A Higher Average Income Than the National Average

StatsCan or Statistics Canada found that Wood Buffalo has a higher average income per family than the national average. This is good news for anybody relocating to the area for a new job. Due in large part to the oil sands, this area is booming with good jobs for those looking for work.

The average income in this part of the country is $186,000 per year, which is higher than the average across the country, which is less than $76,000 annually. This is very high and makes this area part of the richest 10% of all the people in the country.

With a higher average income in the area, new jobs popping up throughout the oil sands and the many attractive features of the Wood Buffalo area, this is a growing community with plenty to offer. Those looking for high paying work can train for a position in the oil industry, while many other jobs are found in the area, as well.

So many of the professionals of this area are focused on leadership and management. Positions in management are becoming more available throughout and the programs in place for the youth are making it easy to get the necessary training.

Comparing the Wood Buffalo area to many other areas in Canada, there are far less families living in low-income neighbourhoods. Over 40% of those living in Windsor and Sherbrooke, which are comparable, live in low-income neighbourhoods. This isn't the case in Wood Buffalo and these types of neighbourhoods are not nearly as prevalent throughout this area.

Many business people believe living around others making the kind of money you would like to make, is a great way to achieve success. If you're interested in making a larger income, moving to the Wood Buffalo area may be a step in the right direction.
